Products and Sizing

Are all fitness shoes basically the same?
No. Shoe companies design fitness shoes for different types of workouts based on the type of movement, floor surface and degree of impact.

How do fitness shoes differ from each other?
Aerobic shoes contain additional cushioning, extra ankle support and overall foot support.  They are used during group exercise classes that incorporate low to high intensity exercise movements.

Aqua shoes are waterproof shoes that provide cushioning and traction for water aerobic classes.

Crosstrainers provide evenly distributed cushioning and overall foot support for workouts on treadmills and elliptical trainers.  They can be used outdoors for walking or jogging.  They are also good for performing weight-bearing exercises.

Dance Sneakers have split soles composed of low-traction rubber for easy sliding and turning.  They are used for dance-oriented workouts.

Running shoes are flexible and lightweight, while providing extra shock absorption for the ball and heel of the foot.  The heel has extra impact protection and the overall design of the sole promotes proper running motion.  They also provide motion control to keep the foot from rolling inward (pronating) or outward (supinating).

Walking shoes are flexible with a well-cushioned forefoot and heel.  Different from running shoes, the heel is slightly lower to support a comfortable walking motion.

Are fitness shoes sized the same as street shoes?
In many instances, the size of your fitness shoes may differ from the size of your street shoes.  To help you get the best fit, we provide sizing details in each of our shoe descriptions.  Click here to see sizing recommendations for our different shoe brands.

Please note that all of our shoes come in one width, unless otherwise indicated.  However, in our shoe descriptions, we do indicate when a shoe tends to run wide or narrow.

Why are Thorlo socks and Jox Sox recommended for fitness workouts?
Built-in padding and quality yarns make Thorlos and Jock Sox the perfect sock for any workout session.  The extra padding in the heel and forefoot area of Thorlo socks absorb moisture and cushion your feet.  Jox Sox provide an extra layer of bottom padding and have a mesh-like area on top of the sock for wicking away moisture.  Both brands are very durable and feel like new after each washing.

What benefits do SofSole insoles and heel and arch supports provide?
Many people claim that their feet feel better from the extra cushioning and arch support provided by SofSole insoles.  The "Athlete's Plus" insole gives excellent overall support and cushioning.  For additional arch support, try the "Arch Plus."  Both of these insoles can replace the removable insoles provided by the manufacturer.

You can also place SofSole heel and arch supports on top of the manufacturer's insole for extra support in these areas.

Ordering and Shipping

How quickly are orders processed?
Most orders are processed and shipped within 24 hours of order placement, unless an item is temporarily out of stock.  In this case, we send an email indicating when your order will ship.

How will I know when to expect delivery of my order?
Once your order is shipped, we send an email indicating an approximate delivery date.  In most cases, you will receive your order in two to four days.

What are your shipping charges?
Click here to see a chart with our shipping charges.  Shipping charges for Alaska, Canada, Mexico and South America are based on the weight of the order.

Accounts and Payment

Why must I set up an account to place an order?
Our automated account system documents your order information and informs you, via email, of when you can expect delivery.  Once it is set up, you can place orders anytime without having to re-enter your shipping and billing information.  It also provides you with access to your order history.  This allows you to quickly identify the style number of shoes or other products you would like to re-order.

How do I use a promotional code?
Just insert your code in the space provided when you check out.  Finalize your order.  Enter your billing information and the corresponding discount will appear in your invoice.

What type of payments do you take?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards.  We utilize a payment processing system known as LinkPoint.  Click here to see more information on payment processing.

Exchanges and Returns

How do I exchange or return my purchase?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.  When you receive your new shoes, please try them on, on a clean surface, to make sure they fit properly.  If, for any reason, you need to exchange or return the shoes, Click here to see our return and exchange policies.  Please note that all exchanges and returns must take place within 30 days of your date of purchase.

Phone Orders

Can I place an order by phone?
Yes.  Just call us at 877-850-1397 and we will gladly take your order.  Costs are the same for orders placed online or by phone.

How does the "Affiliate Program" work and how do I become an affiliate?
